5th ANNIVERSARY OF FUNDARES

In 2010, FUNDARES celebrated its fifth anniversary with a moving party, where we honored those who made possible the many successes of FUNDARES along this five years.

5º date of ARGENTINE ABSOLUTE CHAMPIONSHIP

In October 16th was held the 5th date of the Argentine Absolute Championship, with the following results for FUNDARES:

Women’s Sabre: Belén P. Maurice won the gold medal
Men’s Sabre: Ignacio Solari won the Argentine Absolute Championship!
Men’s Foil: Felipe Saucedo won the gold medal

Absolute National Championship

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP NOVEMBER 2010-ROSARIO

FUNDARES won three gold medals and two bronze!!
Belen P. Maurice earned her fourth consecutive National Championship by defeating GEBA’s representative E. Berninsone by 15 to 4.
Felipe won his third National Championship by defeating GEBA’s representative A. Viaggio by 15 to 5.
Augusto Beruti first conquered a National Championship, beating G. GEBA Mulero of 15 to 14.
Andrea Bendrich won the bronze medal.
Lora Martin took third place also winning Bronze Medal
Daniel Rosa first conquered the final of 8 in épée.

Republica Championship

The 25th and 26 of September was held in the city of Rosario, Santa Fe, the Republica Championship.
Represented FUNDARES: Augusto Beruti, Salome Schugurensky and Gisella Incretolli.

Augusto Salome won the gold and bronze. Congratulations to all three!

4º date of ARGENTINE ABSOLUTE CHAMPIONSHIP

In October 18th, was held in Buenos Aires the 4th date of the Argentine Absolute Championship and FUNDARES achieved the following results:

Women’s Sabre: Belen P. Maurice - Gold Medal, Andrea Bendrich - Bronze Medal
Men’s Sabre: Augusto Beruti - Silver Medal, Ignacio Solari Bronze - Medal
Men’s Foil: Felipe Saucedo - Gold Medal

Pan-American Championships - Costa Rica

Pan-American Championships 2010 - SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA

Between the 1st and 8th of August was held in the city of San José de Costa Rica, the Pan-American Absolute Championships.

FUNDARES was represented by the fencers Felipe Saucedo, Maria Belen Perez Maurice, Andrea Bendrich and Ignacio Solari.

Belén and Felipe reached the 7th and 12th position respectively qualifying for the Individual Test of the Pan-American Games to be played in Guadalajara in late 2011.
For Teams, both Men’s Foil (Felipe), Women’s Sabre (Belén and Andrea) and Men’s Sabre (Ignacio) also managed to successfully qualify for the Pan-American Games.

SANTA FE CITY 3RD ABSOLUTE ARGENTINA CHAMPIONSHIP

OLIMPIA AWARDS

Our fencer Belen Perez Maurice was nominated for an Olimpia Award, given by the Circulo de Periodistas Deportivos (Sports Journalists’ Circle). The ceremony will be held on december 22nd, 2009.

IBEROAMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP – MEDELLÍN, COLOMBIA

Fencer Belén Pérez Maurice won gold medal in the Iberoamerican Champion of Women’s Sabre, after overcoming Patricia Contreras (Venezuela) in the final match, with a score of 15-4. The competition took place in the city of Medellín, Colombia, in october 30 th, 2009.

Absolute National Championship took place in the city of Buenos Aires, and FUNDARES has cachieved the following results.

Belén Pérez Maurice won the championship for third year in a row, after winning by default the final match against Attar Cohen, scoring 14-7. Congratulations!!!
Andrea Bendrich achieved the bronce medal, Congratulations Andrea!!!
Men’s Sabre
Ignacio Solari reached the third position after defeat in semi-finals against Perez Ghersi, with a tight 15-14. Congratulations Ignacio!!!!

Bele Perez Maurice defeated venezuelan Alejandra Benitez ( 20 rgk Fie ) 15 - 9 in the Fencing World Championship in Antalya, Turkia. She ended up in position 60, on Fencing World Ranking

Argentine Junior Championship

This year’s 1st engagement of the Argentine Junior Championship will take place in San Rafael, Mendoza. This event enables competiors to clasify for the Southamerican Championship to be held in Chile next May.
The Argentine Fencing Foundation’s team is led by Dr Nicolas Alitisz and Head Coach Rodrigo Alvarez. Travelling along with them are Andrea Bendrich (current Argentine Champion), Martin Lora and Augusto Beruti. We wish you all the very best!

Leganes - Madrid, Spain / February 28th 2009

Belen P. Maurice attained the 20th position at the Villa Leganes World Cup after winning 15-5 over the Spaniard Marta Estebanez and losing in 32nd to the Russian Anna Illiaronova by 10-15. Congratulations!!!

Orleans - France, February 26th, 2009

Having won 3 and lost 3 Belen advanced to the next round where she lost to the current Olympic Team Champion, the Ukranian Olga Zhovnir by 8-15.

This result left Belen positioned at number 86 over 120 participants.

Since February 6th Belen P. Maurice and her Master Lucas Saucedo, have traveled to Europe on a training and competition tour.

This tour was sponsored by the Argentine Fencing Foundation, the Argentine Sports Secretary and the Argentine Fencing Federation

Andrea Bendrich became National Champion - 15/11/2008

Andrea Bendrich became National Champion and Argentine Champion after finishing the season undefeated in the Womens Junior Sabre category.
The final asalt was against a pier from Cordoba and the final score was 15-3.
